3 Questions to Ask Every Recruiter Who Calls You
By Chris Yee | Uncategorized | Oct 25
I’ve owned Zenith Search Partners for almost seven years and have talked with hundreds and hundreds of candidates and potential candidates. All too often, candidates take a standoffish attitude when they speak with me.
I figure they simply don’t trust me, so they’re naturally somewhat cold, reserved and downright unfriendly. That’s cool. There are DEFINITELY bad recruiters calling candidates today so I get it. People are busy and don’t want to waste their time.
Here are three questions you can ask every headhunter who darkens your proverbial doorway to quickly figure out if they deserve more than sixty seconds of your time.
- Why would I want to work for the company you’re representing?
- How would you describe the hiring manager?
- What is most important thing I can do for the company in the first six months I work there?
It’s rare to see even one of these questions addressed in a job description and I have never seen all three questions answered in a job description. But a job description is not reaching out to you. Your recruiter should be able to give succinct and complete answers to these questions.
What do you think?
