Position
- This firm is looking for an experienced hands-on sales manager to coach and mentor a group of account managers
- This person is responsible for the development, execution and management of the company’s domestic sales strategies
- This person’s group will be responsible for the marketing and sale of bulk commodity chemicals to existing and prospective customers nationwide
- Owns and sets account plans/goals/priorities for account managers, both short and long-term
- Manages and owns the overall commercial relationship with key customers and is the “face” of the firm to them
- The position requires the successful candidate to spend one or two days a week in the firm’s North Houston offices
- This position requires about 35% overnight domestic travel, but that can vary greatly from month to month
Qualifications
- Six or more years of chemical sales experience is required
- Prior sales management experience in the chemical sales space is required
- Chemical distribution sales experience is highly preferred
- A four-year bachelor’s degree is preferred (chemical engineering or chemistry degrees are highly preferred)
- The company greatly values intellectual curiosity
- Strong interpersonal skills along with excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
