Position

  • This firm is looking for an experienced hands-on sales manager to coach and mentor a group of account managers
  • This person is responsible for the development, execution and management of the company’s domestic sales strategies
  • This person’s group will be responsible for the marketing and sale of bulk commodity chemicals to existing and prospective customers nationwide
  • Owns and sets account plans/goals/priorities for account managers, both short and long-term
  • Manages and owns the overall commercial relationship with key customers and is the “face” of the firm to them
  • The position requires the successful candidate to spend one or two days a week in the firm’s North Houston offices
  • This position requires about 35% overnight domestic travel, but that can vary greatly from month to month

Qualifications

  • Six or more years of chemical sales experience is required
  • Prior sales management experience in the chemical sales space is required
  • Chemical distribution sales experience is highly preferred
  • A four-year bachelor’s degree is preferred (chemical engineering or chemistry degrees are highly preferred)
  • The company greatly values intellectual curiosity
  • Strong interpersonal skills along with excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
