- The Materials Engineer will recommend materials based on a variety of requirements like weight, strength, cost, and heat resistance.
- Design and conduct tests to ensure materials and finished goods meet various standards and specifications.
- Conduct tests and analyze data using MDSC, DSC, TGA, DMA, TMA & FTIR.
- Author materials specifications and process standards/specifications.
- Perform a variety of predictive and failure analyses, related to product development, materials selection and process improvement.
- Perform root cause failure analyses and suggest process improvements
- Serve as materials subject matter expert to engineers, field personnel, suppliers and customers
- Produce detailed technical reports and provide effective technical presentations.

What you should possess
- Must have MS in Materials Engineering, Materials Science or Polymer Science.
- Must have at least 7 years of materials science or materials engineering experience
- Must be able to work at a facility in San Antonio, TX.
- Extrusion, thermoplastic, polymer and/or composite laminate experience is highly preferred.

- The ability to travel overnight from time to time
